Kerala excise finds marijuana inside Manikandapuram Sree Krishna Swamy Temple
India
During a recent anti-drug drive called Operation Thunder, officials in Kerala found two small marijuana plants growing inside the Manikandapuram Sree Krishna Swamy Temple in Kottayam.
The discovery happened after temple staff noticed the plants and tipped off excise officers.
Investigators suspect plants from festival waste
Investigators think the plants may have sprouted from leftover cannabis thrown away during a temple festival back in May.
The seized plants are now being examined as part of the ongoing crackdown, which is an ongoing anti-drug crackdown launched to curb narcotics use in the state.
Operation Thunder is all about getting rid of narcotics with help from different government teams.
