Kerala government to invest close to 1,500cr in government schools
Kerala is investing close to ₹1,500 crore in government schools this year, aiming to level up learning and student well-being.
Chief Minister V D Satheesan says the plan is to help students grow and put Kerala on the map as a global knowledge hub.
The focus? Better hygiene for girls, more hands-on science, and making sports a bigger part of school life.
Kerala schools: menstrual-hygiene, 25cr-science, 8cr-sports
A new menstrual hygiene program will provide availability of sanitary napkins to all girls, cleaner toilets, and girl-friendly campuses, plus workshops to spread awareness.
There's also ₹25 crore set aside to get students more involved in science through the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Scientific Temper.
And with ₹8 crore going toward sports facilities, schools are set to support both minds and bodies.
