Kerala on high alert as heavy rains lash state

India

Kerala is in for some serious rain this weekend, thanks to cyclonic activity near Andhra Pradesh and the Arabian Sea.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Idukki, Kannur, and Kasaragod on October 11, 2025, meaning these districts should expect very heavy showers.
Several other areas, including Pathanamthitta and Malappuram, are also on yellow alert.

Rainfall recorded in past 24 hours

Pathanamthitta's Venkurinji just clocked the highest rainfall in 24 hours at 9cm, with Peechi in Thrissur close behind at 8cm.
More rain is on the way, as yellow alerts continue for multiple districts through October 12.
Residents should remain cautious due to the ongoing weather alerts.
