Kerala Police joins religious leaders in Operation Toofan anti-drug drive
Kerala Police is stepping up its anti-drug campaign, Operation Toofan, by joining hands with top religious leaders.
Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala honored Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama State president Syed Mohammed Jifri Muthukoya Thangal and Sunni leader Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar as Toofan warriors, a title celebrating their commitment to keeping young people safe from drug abuse.
Kerala launches school awareness, 15cr seized
Operation Toofan has already seized articles worth over 15 crore rupees.
The state is rolling out awareness programs in schools for International Day Against Drug Abuse and Trafficking on June 26, with ministers and MPs joining in.
Chennithala says the goal is a "drug-free Kerala," and he's expected to meet Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil, Bishop of the Thamarassery Diocese, in the afternoon.
