Kerala unveils 'Land Reforms 2.0' in budget easing business setup
Kerala announced it will implement "Land Reforms 2.0" as part of its latest budget, aiming to modernize old land laws and clear up the red tape that's been slowing down new businesses.
The plan? Use surplus government land more efficiently and make it easier for industries to set up shop.
Kerala to fast-track land conversions
The reforms will fast-track converting land for commercial use through transparent deals with agencies like KINFRA and INKEL, making it simpler for new projects to get started.
There's also a focus on sorting out land title issues, especially in coastal and hilly areas, with ₹76.7 crore earmarked for the Revenue Department.
Plus, farmers get some attention too: restrictions on cardamom patta lands are under review, K-GIS will support regional spatial governance activities in the State, and the drone lab center will collect and process high-resolution data and digital elevation model (DEM) data required for disaster management activities in the State.
