A 54-year-old woman from Kerala who was being monitored for possible Ebola has been given the all-clear and sent home from Kottayam Medical College Hospital.
She had recently returned from South Sudan via Uganda and developed mild symptoms, but tests by the National Institute of Virology confirmed she did not have the virus.
Isolated at Kottayam hospital, officials reassure
Doctors placed her in an isolation ward right away, just to be safe and follow international health rules.
Health officials said she never showed any worrying symptoms during her stay.
They also reassured everyone that keeping an eye on travelers from high-risk areas is standard practice, so there is no reason for alarm.
