Kolkata college rape: Victim requires more counseling

India

A 24-year-old law student was allegedly gang-raped by three men on the South Calcutta Law College campus after being lured to a security guard's room on June 25.
She's now stable and receiving treatment, but doctors say she's still dealing with trauma and will need counseling for some time.

Accused in custody, college has taken action

The accused—two students and a former employee—are in police custody, with their remand extended till July 8 for Mishra and the two students, and until Friday for the security guard.
The college has expelled the students involved and fired the staff member.
Classes are suspended while police gather evidence, including CCTV footage and forensic reports that confirm assault.
The security guard on duty has also been arrested for negligence as authorities continue their probe.
