Kuno cheetah kills buffalo calf in Karauli, villagers stone team
India
A cheetah from Kuno National Park strayed into Rajasthan's Karauli district and killed a buffalo calf, leading to angry villagers attacking a visiting forest team with stones.
Even though the officials promised compensation for the loss, tensions ran high and police have now filed a case against several unidentified people for assaulting public servants.
Forester Alok Prajapati seeks police protection
Villagers have been frustrated by repeated cattle attacks from the cheetah and demanded stronger action.
Forester Alok Prajapati shared that despite their assurances, locals "were in no mood to listen."
He's now asked for police protection during patrols, as concerns grow over both animal encounters and the safety of officials in these areas.
