Turns out, most Indians aren't sure how to report a cybercrime—just 18% of people aged 15 and above know the official channels, according to a new government survey. Urban folks are a bit more aware (28%), but in rural areas, it drops to just 13%.

Delhi stands out with the highest awareness at 35%, while states like Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, and Maharashtra follow behind. Piyush Bajpai from Deloitte India says boosting digital literacy is key and suggests things like local campaigns, AI tools, and even teaching cyber safety in schools to help make India safer online.
