Ludhiana: Stray dog attack leaves 10 injured, tests positive for rabies

A stray dog bit around 10 people in Model Gram, Ludhiana on Sunday and later tested positive for rabies.
The municipal health team caught and vaccinated five dogs from the area to help prevent further risk.

Victims treated; 1 child needed surgery

All victims got medical care, but a 10-year-old boy needed plastic surgery for serious facial wounds.
Doctors stressed that anyone bitten or even in contact with the dog should get vaccinated right away, since rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms show up.
This case also highlights growing concerns about stray dog attacks in Ludhiana, with over 30,800 cases reported this year alone.
