Maharashtra drops 2026 holiday list—24 days off incoming!
Maharashtra just released its official public holidays for 2026, giving everyone a heads-up to plan their year.
With 24 state-wide days off for government offices and state government establishments, it's the perfect excuse to start thinking about those long weekends and festival breaks.
What's on the calendar?
Big dates include Republic Day (Jan 26), Mahashivratri (Feb 15), Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti (Feb 19), Holi (Mar 3), Gudi Padwa (Mar 19), Ganesh Chaturthi (Sep 14), Diwali Amavasya (Laxmi Pujan) (Nov 8), Guru Nanak Jayanti (Nov 24), and Christmas on a Friday!
There's also a special Bhaubeej holiday on Nov 11.
Why does this matter?
Getting the holiday list early means you can actually plan trips or downtime without last-minute stress.
It also helps workplaces organize their schedules better—so fewer surprises and more chill time all around.
