Maharashtra witnesses surge in COVID-19 cases
Maharashtra just reported 30 fresh COVID-19 cases and three more deaths, pushing the state's total infections for 2025 to 2,425.
Most of the people who died this year had other health issues.
TL;DR
Breakup of new cases
Mumbai and Pune each logged eight new cases, while Nagpur had five.
Other districts like Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan-Dombivali, Kolhapur, and Sangli saw smaller numbers.
The state has done over 27,000 tests so far this year and recorded more than 2,100 recoveries.
Mumbai has over half of total cases this year
Mumbai remains the city with the highest case count—973 so far in 2025—with over half of those reported just in June.
The city's numbers suggest that testing and patient care are still very much a priority for local health teams.
