Man arrested for sharing AI-generated offensive video of PM Modi
A man from Puthiya village, Etah, Uttar Pradesh, has landed in trouble for allegedly circulating an AI-generated video of Prime Minister Modi that many found offensive.
Sanjay, the accused, was linked to a clip that was posted on X on Friday (March 6, 2026) and circulated on Instagram through a handle linked to him, and it quickly went viral, sparking a lot of public anger.
Police issue warning to people
Police said the video was created using AI to manipulate the prime minister's image and registered an FIR against Sanjay based on a written complaint by sub-inspector Pravesh Rana.
Screenshots and the original clip have been saved as evidence.
Officials say they will fully investigate and warn that anyone caught spreading misleading or objectionable content online could face serious legal action.
This case is another reminder to think twice before sharing AI-made content that can cause harm.
