Man rapes, blackmails woman after promising marriage: Police

A 23-year-old woman from Delhi has accused a man she met at a wedding of raping her after promising marriage, then using photos and videos taken during the incident to blackmail her.
She says the incident happened in July 2024, when he allegedly drugged and assaulted her at a guest house.

Woman's husband threatened with divorce

After she married someone else in March 2024, the accused reportedly sent those videos to her new husband—leading to threats of divorce.
The police have registered a case and are talking to both the woman and her husband as they investigate.
The accused hasn't been caught yet, but police say questioning is likely soon.
Meanwhile, the woman is staying with her mother for support.
