Security forces carried out an early morning raid on Tuesday in Manipur's Churachandpur district, resulting in the deaths of four United Kuki National Army (UKNA) militants.
The operation focused on UKNA members who aren't part of the government's peace agreement, and while some were killed, others managed to escape.
Raid conducted on basis of intel
The raid was based on intelligence that UKNA fighters—operating outside official peace deals—were active about 80km from Churachandpur.
With search operations still underway for those who fled, the incident highlights ongoing unrest in areas where armed groups remain outside peace talks.
