Massive job scam unearthed in Madhya Pradesh

In Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district, five people were caught trying to snag government jobs by pretending their parents had died—even though their parents were alive and never worked in the education department. One of them, Brijesh Kol, falsely claimed a woman named Bela Kali Kol was his late mother and an assistant teacher.

How the fraud was discovered

The fraud came to light when salary paperwork didn't add up—turns out, Kol's "deceased" mother was neither dead nor ever a teacher. Along with Brijesh, Hiramani Rawat, Om Prakash Kol, Sushma Kol, Vinay Kumar Rawat, and Usha Devi have been arrested. A clerk who helped process these fake appointments is also facing charges. Authorities are now reviewing similar job appointments from the last three years across four districts to make sure no one else slipped through the cracks.
