Prime Minister Modi and Egypt's President El-Sisi met up in New Delhi during the 18th BRICS Summit, celebrating a longstanding partnership between their countries.
This comes after Egypt officially joined BRICS in January 2024, alongside Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, showing how much the group is growing.
BRICS summit stresses resilience, inclusive growth
This year's summit is all about resilience and inclusive growth for emerging economies. Modi highlighted how BRICS helps Global South nations tackle things like disaster management and sustainability.
On the sidelines, El-Sisi also chatted with Russia's President Putin about boosting trade, and even got an invite to the Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow later this year.
