Modi from INS Vikrant: Maoist violence down to 11 districts
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking on Sunday from INS Vikrant, thanked security forces for helping curb Naxal-Maoist terror across India.
He shared that in the past 10 years, more than 100 districts have been freed from this violence.
"For the first time, people in many such districts are celebrating Diwali with pride and dignity," he said.
Modi credits security forces for transformation
A decade ago, 125 districts were in the grip of Naxal-Maoist violence—now it's down to just 11, with only three still heavily affected.
Modi highlighted how places once hit by violence are seeing highways, schools, and businesses instead of destruction.
He credited the penance, sacrifice and courage of security forces for making this transformation possible and bringing new hope to these communities.
