Mumbai's air quality improves slightly as winter approaches
India
Mumbai just got a little fresher—Saturday's air quality improved, with the AQI dropping to 104 from 145 the day before.
Cooler temps (think Colaba at 23.5°C and Santacruz at 21.2°C) signal that mild winter is here, which often shakes up pollution levels thanks to shifting winds and humidity.
'Good' air in Colaba, but don't get too comfy
Air quality wasn't the same everywhere: Colaba (44) enjoyed 'good' air, while Sion (62) and Worli (88) had 'satisfactory' air quality, and Byculla and the airport hovered around moderate levels.
But don't get too comfy—experts warn that as it gets colder and less humid, pollutants can get trapped more easily, especially with all the traffic and construction dust around.
So while things are better for now, keep an eye out as winter deepens.
