Mysuru's Sri Jayadeva Institute: Dr B Dinesh explains 11 deaths
India
After 11 patients died at Sri Jayadeva Institute in Mysuru, questions about hospital care and staff shortages started circulating.
Director Dr B Dinesh explained that all patients arrived after the crucial "golden hour" for heart attack treatment, and most were older with serious health issues like diabetes, which made recovery tough.
Mysuru hospital defends staffing, expansion approved
Dr. Dinesh pushed back on claims of too few doctors, saying the hospital actually has 40 doctors (including 24 cardiologists) and is hiring more due to a recent spike in patients.
To keep up with demand, the government has approved 200 extra beds (with 60 new intensive care unit spots), and the hospital plans to open new cardiac centers soon so people can get help faster when it matters most.
