A devastating fire in Nalipur village, Jajpur, Odisha, claimed the lives of four family members on Saturday night, including two children.

Tabsum and Gulapsa Bibi were preparing food for the family using LPG gas when the blaze broke out and quickly spread through their asbestos house.

One young man from the family survived but is in critical condition at the hospital.

Single entrance hindered evacuation

The house had just a single entrance, which trapped everyone inside as flames took over.

Firefighters and police rushed to help, but evacuation was tough given the layout.

Authorities are still investigating what caused the fire.
