Narendra Modi 1st Indian PM to visit Slovakia since 1993
Prime Minister Narendra Modi just became the first Indian prime minister to visit Slovakia since it became independent in 1993.
The main goal? To boost India-Slovakia ties in innovation, manufacturing, energy, biofuels, and digital tech.
Modi got a warm welcome from Slovak leaders when he landed in Bratislava.
Modi receives Slovakia's highest civilian honor
The visit kicked off with a ceremony at Bratislava Castle and meetings with Slovak business leaders to push economic collaboration.
Modi was welcomed with traditional bread and salt, paid tribute at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and checked out artwork by Slovak children inspired by Indian stories.
Ahead of International Yoga Day, he watched a yoga demonstration by schoolchildren, and received Slovakia's highest civilian honor, dedicating it to India-Slovakia friendship.
