Narendra Modi to witness Kolkata commissioning of Indian-built navy ships
India
This Sunday, Prime Minister Modi is set to witness the commissioning of three new Indian-built navy ships (Dunagiri, Sanshodhak, and Agray) in Kolkata.
Designed by the navy's own team and built by GRSE, these ships are expected to give a solid boost to India's maritime strength and show off some serious homegrown tech.
Ships armed and over 75% Indian-made
All three vessels pack impressive features: Dunagiri comes loaded with BrahMos missiles and advanced air defense; Sanshodhak brings cutting-edge underwater survey gear; and Agray is ready for anti-submarine action with torpedoes and sonar.
Built with over 75% Indian-made parts (thanks to more than 200 local MSMEs), these ships highlight how India's shipbuilding game is leveling up under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat push.
