NCRPB rejects Haryana demand to cut NCR share by 67%
India
Haryana wanted to cut down its share of the National Capital Region (NCR) by 67%, saying it's tough to enforce rules in far-off districts.
But at its June 16, 2026 meeting, the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) decided to keep Haryana's NCR area just as it is.
NCRPB announces 4 Namo cities
The board also proposed a new Central NCR zone near Delhi and announced four upcoming Namo Cities along rapid rail lines (each state gets one).
These moves are part of the Regional Plan 2041, which aims for smarter pollution control and sustainable city development.
The final report should be ready by August 15, 2026.
