NEHU suspends professor in bribery scandal
Nirmalendu Saha, a professor at North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Shillong, was arrested by the CBI on June 12, 2025, for allegedly accepting a ₹3.43 lakh bribe.
The sting operation took place at the Guwahati University Guest House, where Saha and businessman Pranjal Sharma were caught exchanging cash linked to lab equipment orders and bill payments.
