NHAI ends cash tolls nationwide for FASTag and UPI
India
Starting April 10, you won't be able to pay cash at any national highway toll plaza:
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is switching to digital-only payments like FASTag and UPI.
The goal? Smoother drives and less waiting around in traffic jams.
Uttar Pradesh car tolls rise
If you're driving through Uttar Pradesh, expect a slight bump in toll rates.
Car tolls on national highways are going up by as much as 10%, and expressway fees will rise by about 1.5% to 3.5%.
For example, the Lucknow-Agra Expressway car toll moves from ₹665 to ₹675, while the Gorakhpur Link Expressway will see four-wheelers pay ₹10 more.
All part of an effort to make things more efficient (and a bit pricier) on the road.
