No surprise holiday: Most schools open on December 15

India

Heads up—schools across India will be open as usual on Monday, December 15, 2025.
There aren't any national or state holidays, so regular classes and exams are on for CBSE, ICSE, and state boards.
But there are a couple of exceptions you should know about.

Delhi-NCR: Hybrid classes because of pollution

If you're in Delhi-NCR, things work a bit differently. Schools here will switch to hybrid or online classes for younger students due to bad air quality.
Physical attendance is limited starting December 15 as part of GRAP-IV pollution control steps.

Jammu & Kashmir: Winter break continues

For those in Jammu & Kashmir's winter zone, schools stay closed thanks to the ongoing winter break that started late November or early December.
This is all about keeping students safe and comfortable during the cold.

What this means for you

Ignore the holiday rumors—most students should prep for a normal school day unless you're in Delhi-NCR (hybrid mode) or J&K's winter zone (still on break).
It's all about staying informed so there are no last-minute surprises!
