Odisha woman fakes bomb attack, shooting to get gun license
India
In Bhubaneswar, Ghunguru Misra allegedly staged a fake bomb attack at her home on September 10, 2025, and a shooting incident in early October 2025—just to convince authorities she needed an arms license.
She filed police complaints claiming threats to her life after each incident, hoping it would help her application.
Misra still on the run
Investigators found that Misra hired her driver and two others to carry out the fake attacks after being denied a gun license.
All three men—Debasis Mohapatra (24), Santosh Mahakhud (25), and Chandan Nayak (27)—have been arrested for their roles in the attacks.
Meanwhile, Misra herself is still on the run as police continue their search.
