Officials to deploy 670 companies for Amarnath Yatra 2026 security
This year, safety is the top priority. After last year's tragic attack in Pahalgam that claimed 27 lives, officials are stepping up big time:
670 companies of paramilitary forces and local police will be stationed along key routes and camps to protect pilgrims.
CRPF and multiple agencies secure Nashri-Digdol
Security is tighter than ever on the Nashri-Digdol stretch of the Jammu-Srinagar highway, with CRPF teams every few kilometers.
Drones, CCTV cameras, counter-IED squads, and dog teams are all in action.
Ramban-based Central Reserve Force (CRPF) commandant N Ranbir Singh emphasized that pilgrim convoys get top priority; plus, no-fly zones and RFID tracking will help keep everyone safe.
Multiple security agencies, including CISF and the Army, are working together for a smooth journey this year.
