Over 6,000kg meth destroyed in Andaman after months-long planning
India
In one of India's biggest anti-drug operations, the Andaman and Nicobar Police wiped out more than 6,000kg of meth, worth a jaw-dropping ₹36,000 crore.
The drugs were originally seized by the Coast Guard from a ship near the islands with six Myanmar crew members back in November 2024.
After months of careful planning, the destruction was wrapped up on March 12, 2026.
Disposal was done at a secure incineration plant
The meth was packed into about 1,500 packets and is totally illegal here.
Director General Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal led the investigation, with an FIR filed under strict anti-drug laws.
The final disposal happened at a secure incineration plant overseen by DIGP Dr. A. Koan's team, making sure none of it ever made its way back onto the streets.
