PM Modi announces Amarnath Yatra, praises social schemes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi just shared that the Amarnath Yatra—one of India's big spiritual journeys—will run from July 3 this year.
In his address, he also talked up how much India has improved its social safety net and celebrated growing cultural ties with other countries.
Government schemes now cover over 950 million people: Modi
Modi pointed out that government schemes now cover over 950 million people, a jump from just 19% in 2015 to more than 64% today.
This includes subsidized food, affordable housing (PMAY), and health coverage (Ayushman Bharat).
He also mentioned food aid for over 800 million people will continue till at least 2028.

The PM gave a shout-out to Vietnam for appreciating the return of Buddha relics from Andhra Pradesh—calling it a boost for international friendships.
He praised Meghalaya's Eri Silk for getting a GI tag as cruelty-free silk and highlighted new environmental projects in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
