PM Modi names Odisha's Pahadpur solar village launches ₹47,000cr projects
Prime Minister Narendra Modi just named Pahadpur in Odisha a "solar village," promising solar power for every home.
He also kicked off development projects worth a massive ₹47,000 crore at an event marking two years of BJP rule in the state.
President Droupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi were there too.
Modi highlights 500 Eklavya Model Schools
Modi called the solar project a nod to local culture: PM Narendra Modi said, "Just as Odisha's Konark Sun Temple has a unique identity, Pahadpur will earn the identity of a Solar Village,"
He also talked about boosting opportunities for tribal communities with around 500 Eklavya Model Schools have been opened across the country and highlighted how recent campaigns are bringing more jobs and investment to Odisha.
The launch lined up with local festivals, adding to the celebratory vibe.
