PM Modi to launch ₹33,500cr projects in Delhi tomorrow
Big day for Delhi: Prime Minister Modi is set to kick off and lay the foundation for development projects worth ₹33,500 crore on March 8, 2026 (Sunday) at around 12 noon.
He'll start by handing over new home keys to women allottees at Sarojini Nagar's GPRA quarters before addressing the crowd.
Metro expansions and new flats for government employees
Delhi Metro is getting a major boost with two new stretches: Majlis Park-Maujpur Babarpur (Pink Line) and Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park (Magenta Line), making commutes easier across key neighborhoods.
Plus, groundwork begins for even more metro expansion under Phase V-A.
There's also a big upgrade coming for government housing: over 9,350 new flats and tons of office space are being built using a self-sustaining model, so it won't drain public funds.
What it means for you
If you live in or travel through Delhi-NCR, expect smoother rides and less congestion over time.
For government employees, modern housing is on the way.
All these efforts are about making city life better without putting extra pressure on taxpayers: which could inform future urban projects elsewhere.
