PM Narendra Modi to launch 820cr projects during Paschimbanga Divas
On Saturday, PM Modi is heading to Hooghly to kick off development projects worth ₹820 crore, timed with Paschimbanga Divas, held at Hooghly's Tarakeswar, a place of historic significance associated with Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
The focus? Upgrading railways, improving roads, and giving a boost to agriculture and rural life across West Bengal.
Nabadwip-Puri train, railway hospital, roads
There's a big push for better trains and roads: expect the new Nabadwip-Puri rail service, groundwork for a 300-bed railway hospital in Howrah, and a new road bridge in Purba Medinipur.
Plus, over 315km of rural roads are being added under PMGSY-III to help connect remote areas.
PM Modi to release PM-KISAN payout
Modi will release the latest PM-KISAN payment for farmers and launch the Digital Agriculture Mission.
There's also fresh support for crop insurance, natural farming, fisheries upgrades in Frasergunj, a goat semen lab in Nadia (yep!), and a new fish market in Birbhum, all aimed at making rural life stronger and more sustainable.
