PM Narendra Modi to lead 12th International Day of Yoga
International Day of Yoga is back for its 12th year on June 21, with Kolkata hosting the main event at Red Road.
Prime Minister Modi will lead the celebrations, and this year's theme, "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," is all about using yoga to boost both body and mind as people live longer lives.
Nearly 2,500 Yoga Day sites planned
This year is huge: nearly 2,500 locations worldwide are planned thanks to more than 210 Indian missions abroad organizing International Day of Yoga programs in coordination with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
Leading up to the big day, Kolkata's Doud se Dhyan on June 19 spotlights fitness and mental health, while Vande Yogam on June 20 celebrates yoga's roots.
There's also been a Guinness World Record set with more than 400,000 people joining a live session!
Plus, yoga will be practiced at 100 iconic Indian sites, so it's not just about wellness but also connecting with culture and the environment.
