Police say Tughlakabad fire was revenge over ₹80,000 debt
A tragic fire in Southeast Delhi's Tughlakabad Extension on June 12-13 turned out to be a revenge plot over an unpaid ₹80,000 debt.
Police say a 27-year-old woman, upset about the money owed by Rakesh, teamed up with a minor girl to set the plan in motion.
They even checked out the building's entry and exit points beforehand.
Minor allegedly torched scooter, 3 dead
The minor allegedly set Rakesh's electric scooter on fire on the ground floor, which quickly spread through the building and trapped residents.
Eight people were injured; sadly, Pankaj, 28; Soni, 20; and Sushila Devi, 70, didn't survive.
CCTV footage shows the minor entering and leaving just before the fire started.
Police also revealed that the woman has ties to people with serious criminal backgrounds, and investigations are still ongoing.
