President Murmu, PM Modi to launch over 47,600cr Odisha projects
President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are teaming up in Rairangpur, Odisha, this Saturday to launch development projects worth over ₹47,600 crore.
It's a big moment for the state as these upgrades, spanning energy, roads, hospitals, education, and tourism, land on the BJP government's second anniversary in Odisha.
Projects aimed at boosting rural jobs
Big-ticket projects include a 600-MW hydropower plant and an expanded thermal power station for more reliable electricity.
There's also new railway tracks to make travel smoother, a major coal gasification project, better highways like Nuapada-Ghatipada NH-353, and improved irrigation.
Plus: a new 300-bed hospital in Boudh, modern bus stands, a tribal research center, and a sports complex, all aimed at boosting jobs and quality of life in rural and tribal areas.
