Pune: History-sheeter injured in police encounter

On Saturday evening in Awhalwadi near Wagholi, Pune Police had a gunfight with Omkar Dilip Bhandare, a 25-year-old history-sheeter.
After police tracked him down and set up a trap, Bhandare fired at officers from the bushes, forcing them to respond.
What happened next
Sub-Inspector Ravindra Dhaware fired back in self-defense, hitting Bhandare in the leg. He was quickly taken to Sassoon Hospital.
Police say Bhandare has a record of weapon charges and assault, and he's now facing new charges for attacking officers.
Thankfully, none of the police were hurt during the encounter.
