Pune's air turns 'poor' again—3rd time this month
Pune's air quality dropped into the "poor" zone on December 14, with an AQI of 215. This is the third time this month the city's air has hit poor levels.
The IMD also reported a chilly morning, with temperatures dipping to 9.4°C.
Some neighborhoods had it even worse
While most areas stayed below an AQI of 200, spots like Hadapsar (303), Bhumkar Nagar (291), Revenue Colony (251), and MHADA Colony (224) saw much higher—and more worrying—pollution levels.
What's causing all this haze?
The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) had already warned about poor air for December 14.
According to IITM scientist Sachin Ghude, cold weather trapping pollution, dust from construction and vehicles, plus moisture from the Arabian Sea are all making things hazier than usual.
Sensitive folks are advised to take it easy outdoors and keep their meds handy.
