Punjab youths rescued from Iranian traffickers

India

Three young men from Punjab—Jaspal Singh, Amritpal Singh, and Husanpreet Singh—were tricked by travel agents with fake promises of jobs in Australia but ended up kidnapped in Iran.
After being abducted at Tehran airport on May 1, they were held captive, tortured for ransom, and suffered serious injuries.
The agents who sent them have now been booked for trafficking and cheating.

Men back home, recovering from ordeal

Now safely back in Punjab, the trio is recovering from both physical wounds and the stress of their ordeal. Amritpal had to return on a temporary passport since his original was damaged during captivity.
Their families have expressed deep gratitude to the Indian and Iranian authorities for helping bring them home.
The men described facing repeated ransom threats and seeing others also trapped by traffickers—a tough experience they're glad to have survived.
