Railway service disrupted due to damaged tracks

India

Train services on the Lumding-Badarpur route in Northeast India have been stopped since Monday evening, thanks to landslides caused by "improper" road repairs by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
This has cut off rail links to southern Assam, Tripura, Manipur, and Mizoram, with boulders and mud blocking tracks near New Haflong.

NFR says water from roadwork triggered slope collapse

Major trains like the Guwahati-Silchar Express are canceled or delayed while railway teams clear debris.
NFR says water from roadwork triggered a slope collapse onto the tracks. They've asked NHAI for better safety measures and will only reopen the route once it's safe.
