Ranchi recruitment protests leave over 200 booked including 3 leaders
Over 200 people have been booked in Ranchi after a protest by job aspirants turned violent during a face-off with police.
The demonstrators were upset about alleged irregularities in government recruitment exams held by the JPSC and JSSC, and say the state has let them down.
14 named accused are also booked; among them are JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch leaders Kunal Pratap Singh, Piyush Kumar and Ravindra Paswan.
High court stay triggers aspirant protests
The protests kicked off after High Court rulings stayed notifications canceling appointments linked to the 11th and 13th JPSC examinations, the JSSC-CGL, Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), and food safety officers, leaving many aspirants frustrated and demanding answers.
FIRs accuse protesters of obstructing government work and violating route-chart norms, while agitators also attempted to burn effigies of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
This clash highlights just how tense things have gotten between young job seekers and the state government over fair hiring.
