Ranjana Prakash Desai's Eighth CPC consults states on pay pensions
The Eighth Central Pay Commission (CPC), led by former Supreme Court Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, is traveling to different states in June and July to talk pay, pensions, and allowances with people who are directly affected.
Their recommendations will shape salaries and benefits for about 50 lakh central government employees and around 65 lakh retired central government pensioners, including defense personnel and defense retirees.
CPC schedules Lucknow Bhubaneswar Kolkata consultations
The CPC wants input from employee unions, pensioner groups, All India Services officers, and ministry reps.
First stop: Lucknow on June 22-23 (sign up by June 10), then Bhubaneswar on July 6-7 and Kolkata on July 9-10 (submissions due June 15).
After months of collecting feedback since April, the final report, set to impact future pay, should be ready by around February 2027.
