Uttarakhand cabinet minister Rekha Arya's husband, Girdhari Lal Sahu, was arrested by a Special Investigation Team in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, after Arya accused him of domestic violence, forgery, and even plotting to kill her.
The case grabbed attention because Arya detailed serious allegations: physical abuse, casteist slurs, and attempts to remove her from company roles.
Sahu's nephew arrested in Bareilly
Sahu's nephew was also picked up in Bareilly as part of the investigation.
After Arya filed her complaint last month in Dehradun, police formed a special team that tracked Sahu across different locations, even in Nepal, before finally arresting him.
The SIT gathered evidence like audio clips and witness statements that backed up Arya's claims.
