India
Satish Kumar Krishnaprasad Kesari, a 42-year-old from Bihar who once aimed for the IAS, was finally caught in Delhi after nearly a year on the run.
He was arrested for stealing a ₹5 lakh gold chain from Padmavati Jewellers in Kandivali West: police tracked him down using CCTV footage and tech clues.
Kesari confessed 2 Mumbai thefts
Kesari's story started with big ambitions: he moved to Delhi, tried his hand at UPSC exams and even Kaun Banega Crorepati, but nothing worked out.
After his travel business failed and debts piled up, he turned to theft in November 2025, using a fake Aadhaar card to evade police.
During questioning after his arrest, he later confessed to two thefts in Mumbai.
