Singaporean tourist detained for filming inside Kerala temple

India

A 49-year-old tourist from Singapore, Thiruneepanar, was stopped on Saturday after he was caught filming inside the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala—a spot where cameras are strictly off-limits.
He reportedly started recording around 9:25am focusing on parts of the northern side and the Thulabharam mandapam, which quickly got security's attention.

Police step in as temple struggles with no-filming rules

After being caught, Thiruneepanar was handed over to Fort police and charged for not following lawful orders.
He's been released but will need to return for more questioning.
This isn't the first time this has happened—earlier this year, another tourist tried something similar.
