South India wants natural farming in national policies

India

At the South India Natural Farming Summit, organizers proposed a plan to PM Modi to make natural farming a bigger part of India's future.
They're pushing for things like jeevamruth (a homemade organic fertilizer) and plant-based extracts to replace chemicals, plus setting up local farming clusters to improve soil health and cut down on chemical use.

What else is in the plan?

The organizers also called for regular farmer training at agri universities, more livestock on farms for healthier soil, and climate-friendly veggie programs.
Other big ideas include distributing naturally grown seeds nationwide, boosting groundwater recharge, launching a university dedicated to natural farming, and helping farmers sell organic produce directly online—all aiming for greener farms and better incomes.
