Tamil Nadu weather: Chennai experiences heavy rainfall
Chennai woke up to some serious rainfall last night, bringing much-needed relief after days of heat.
The showers, paired with strong winds, helped drop temperatures to a more bearable 34-35°C.
IMD says we can expect more light rain and cloudy skies in the city and suburbs.
Nungambakkam saw 24.7mm of rain, and places like Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Tiruvallur are likely next in line for a good soak.
Rain continues in other parts of Tamil Nadu too
It's not just Chennai—rain is sticking around in other parts of Tamil Nadu too.
Even though the southwest monsoon is fading, changes in wind patterns are keeping things wet.
Coastal and northern districts like Sivaganga and Valparai have had decent showers; Cuddalore reported heavy rain as well.
All this means cooler weather for now—and yes, there's still more rain on the way!
