UP schools to be closed for 5 days for Diwali

Heads up, students—schools in Uttar Pradesh will be closed from October 20-23, 2024, for Diwali, Govardhan Puja, and Bhai Dooj.
With Sunday (October 19) added in, that's a five-day holiday before classes start again on October 24 [2024].
The idea is to give everyone time to enjoy the festivals with family and friends.

Other states that are giving students extended Diwali break

It's not just UP—states like Rajasthan (12 days off), Jammu & Kashmir (15 days), Delhi (select days), West Bengal (October 20-23), Bihar (till October 29), and Maharashtra (up to October 23) are all giving students extra time off for Diwali and other local celebrations.
So wherever you are, chances are you'll get some well-deserved festival downtime this October!
