The new Vande Bharat Express now connects Amritsar and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, slashing travel time by about 40 minutes thanks to a shorter route.
The train's upgraded air-conditioned coaches promise a comfier ride, and it links two major religious spots, Sri Harmandir Sahib and the Vaishno Devi shrine, making trips easier for pilgrims and boosting local tourism.
Beas Junction ₹62cr upgrade
Beas Junction station is set for a ₹62 crore makeover under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Expect a new platform, better footbridges, more parking, and improved facilities, all while keeping its classic look.
Once done, the station's daily crowd could triple from 6,166 to nearly 19,500 people.
